I have been reluctant to post my happenings because of some disheartening news. My boyfriend gave me an ultimatum: make money or we're through. So, I have spent most of my time writing resumes and searching for jobs and filling out applications.
Don't be too disappointed. I will still be trying to sell my hand made items and get into galleries to make money as an artist, but I might have to extend my options to include being a graphic artist and doing other creative things. No luck so far, but I'm not giving up hope.
Positive note: there have been 52 views of my Steam Punk Comb and that means people are at least looking. I'm still optimistic that I will make some money, but enough to live on is still a ways away.

ReplyDeleteThe steam punk stuff is pretty popular. i saw some of your etsy things they are cute....there is potential to make money there but things have to be priced pretty reasonably and then you have to post really large amounts of items. If you have one item that people have wanted that is fairly simple to produce, making a lot of those at a lower price could be profitable. It's not as fun as making a different item each time but mass production of some king seems key to profitability. Some girls at my store make really rad jewelry from found stuff and charge $15 to $35 and it sells very rapidly so they make decent money at it since it turns over quickly. FYI <3 aunt julie
